Our campaign follows the 'agent of change' principle that the person or organisation responsible for making change (for example, a housing provider organising an aid or adaptation to someone's home) must also bear responsibility for the impact of that change
Too often in the past, home adaptations have been ugly, lacking wider purpose and had a negative influence on people's pride in their homes, their self-perception and quality of life. Fit for our Future promotes the benefits of investing in a proactive approach that centres around inclusive and thoughtful design.

The campaign directly supports the recommendations from the
Better Social Housing Review, with it's call for housing providers to refocus and deliver on their core purpose. The Building Safety Act 2022 is another good reason to invest in good design and people-centred provision to reduce the risk of accidents.
